Ingredients
- 1/2 lb flank steak
- 1/2 large red bell pepper
- 1/2 large green bell pepper
- 1/2 medium onion
- 4 garlic cloves
- 2 tsp regular soy sauce
- 2 tsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tsp Shaoxing wine
- 1.5 tsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp white granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
Instructions
- Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips. Marinate with soy sauces, Shaoxing wine, and cornstarch for 15 minutes.
- Mix oyster sauce, soy sauces, black pepper, Shaoxing wine, cornstarch, and chicken stock in a bowl to create the sauce.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Sear marinated beef until browned (about 2 minutes). Remove and set aside.
- Stir-fry onions and bell peppers for 30 seconds until crisp-tender.
- Add sauce to vegetables and simmer until thickened (about 1 minute). Return beef to the pan and mix well before serving.
