- 1/2 tsp baking powder

- 1 tbsp (15ml) vegetable oil
- 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
- 3/4 cup (180ml) hot water
- 2 1/2 tbsp (8g) instant espresso coffee powder
- 4 tbsp (52g) sugar
- 6 tbsp (90ml) Kahlua
- 8 oz (226g) cream cheese, room temperature
- 16 oz (452g) mascarpone cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup (207g) sugar
- 3 tbsp (24g) all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup (173g) sour cream
- 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 3 egg yolks, room temperature
- 12 ladyfingers
- 3 large egg yolks, room temperature
- 5 tbsp (65g) sugar
- 7 tbsp (105ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
- 3 oz (86g) mascarpone cheese, cool but not cold
- Cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a springform pan.
- For the cake layer, mix flour, baking powder, salt, butter, sugar, oil, vanilla extract, egg, milk, water, and espresso powder until smooth. Bake for 25-30 minutes; cool completely.
- For the cheesecake filling, blend cream cheese and sugar; add mascarpone, sour cream, and vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time until just combined.
- Soak ladyfingers in Kahlua briefly; place on cooled cake layer. Pour cheesecake filling over ladyfingers.
- Bake at 325°F (160°C) in a water bath for about 1 hour until edges are firm but center jiggles slightly.
- Cool at room temperature before refrigerating for several hours or overnight. Top with whipped cream and cocoa powder before serving.
