  • 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) hot water
  • 2 1/2 tbsp (8g) instant espresso coffee powder
  • 4 tbsp (52g) sugar
  • 6 tbsp (90ml) Kahlua
  • 8 oz (226g) cream cheese, room temperature
  • 16 oz (452g) mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup (207g) sugar
  • 3 tbsp (24g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (173g) sour cream
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3 egg yolks, room temperature
  • 12 ladyfingers
  • 3 large egg yolks, room temperature
  • 5 tbsp (65g) sugar
  • 7 tbsp (105ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 3 oz (86g) mascarpone cheese, cool but not cold
  • Cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a springform pan.
  2. For the cake layer, mix flour, baking powder, salt, butter, sugar, oil, vanilla extract, egg, milk, water, and espresso powder until smooth. Bake for 25-30 minutes; cool completely.
  3. For the cheesecake filling, blend cream cheese and sugar; add mascarpone, sour cream, and vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time until just combined.
  4. Soak ladyfingers in Kahlua briefly; place on cooled cake layer. Pour cheesecake filling over ladyfingers.
  5. Bake at 325°F (160°C) in a water bath for about 1 hour until edges are firm but center jiggles slightly.
  6. Cool at room temperature before refrigerating for several hours or overnight. Top with whipped cream and cocoa powder before serving.
