Ingredients

  • 1 pound white button mushrooms
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon tarragon
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp paper towel.
  2. Slice the mushrooms thickly (about 1/2 inch).
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet.
  5. Add the mushrooms in a single layer; cook until golden brown on both sides (approximately 4–5 minutes).
  6. Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining butter.
  7. Sauté minced garlic in the melted butter for about one minute until fragrant.
  8. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, oregano, tarragon, paprika, black pepper, and optional chili powder; toss well.
  9. Simmer for an additional 2–3 minutes; season with salt to taste.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.
