- 1 pound white button mushrooms
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon tarragon
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions
- Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp paper towel.
- Slice the mushrooms thickly (about 1/2 inch).
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet.
- Add the mushrooms in a single layer; cook until golden brown on both sides (approximately 4–5 minutes).
- Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining butter.
- Sauté minced garlic in the melted butter for about one minute until fragrant.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, oregano, tarragon, paprika, black pepper, and optional chili powder; toss well.
- Simmer for an additional 2–3 minutes; season with salt to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or chives before serving.
