  • 2 sticks cold butter, chopped

  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)
  • Coarse sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, blend flour and sugar. Add cold butter until crumbly. Mix in egg yolks and ice water until dough forms; chill for at least an hour.
  2. Roll out the dough and fit it into a fluted tart pan. Prick the base, cover with foil, fill with weights, and bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. Remove weights and bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden.
  3. Cut star shapes from leftover dough; brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with coarse sugar, and bake for about 7 minutes.
  4. For filling, mix cream cheese, sugar, lemon zest, and juice until smooth; chill.
  5. Spread filling in cooled tart shell; top with mixed berries and decorate with star cutouts.
