Ingredients
- 4–5 Bone-In Chicken Thighs
- 1–2 Honeycrisp Apples, sliced
- 1 Red Onion, sliced
- 4 tbsp Salted Butter
- 3/4 cup Apple Cider
- 1/2 cup Chicken Broth or White Wine
- 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- Fresh Rosemary and Thyme
- 2 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Fresh Thyme
- 2 tbsps Fresh Rosemary, chopped
- Olive oil, as needed
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Season chicken thighs with onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, thyme, and rosemary.
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet; sear chicken thighs skin-side down until golden brown.
- Add sliced red onion and apples around the chicken.
- Bake in the oven for 20–25 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F internal temperature.
- Remove chicken and fruit; prepare the sauce in the skillet with butter, apple cider, broth or wine, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic. Whisk until combined.
- Return chicken and apples to the pan; spoon sauce over them before serving warm.
