- 4 chicken legs
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 2 garlic cloves (crushed)
- 200 grams mushrooms
- 225 ml red wine
- 500 ml chicken stock
- Olive oil
- Butter

- Chop the onion and crush the garlic.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown chicken legs skin-side down for 5–7 minutes; flip to brown the other side for another 5 minutes.
- Remove chicken from the skillet; add onion and garlic, sautéing until translucent (3–5 minutes).
- Stir in mushrooms; cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Pour in red wine, scraping browned bits from the skillet.
- Add tomato purée, thyme sprigs, and chicken stock. Return chicken to the skillet.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for about 90 minutes until chicken is tender.
