  • 1 lb frozen gyoza dumplings
  • 1 lb heirloom tomatoes
  • 1 English cucumber
  • 5 scallions
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp low-sodium tamari
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2–3 tsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Steam the frozen dumplings according to package instructions. Transfer to a large bowl and toss with sesame oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup. Pour over the steamed dumplings and toss gently to coat.
  3. Cut tomatoes into wedges and slice the cucumber and scallions thinly. Add these fresh ingredients and optional chili pepper to the bowl; mix gently.
  4. Tear basil leaves over the salad and garnish with toasted sesame seeds or crispy onions. Serve at room temperature.
