- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 ½ cups buttermilk

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, wheat germ, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, molasses, and melted butter. Combine with dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly to form a ball. Shape into a circle about 7 inches wide.
- Place on a floured baking sheet and score the top with a sharp knife. Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F; then reduce to 375°F for another 30-35 minutes until hollow when tapped.
