- 1 box yellow cake mix (425g)
- 1½ cups water (360ml)
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil (80ml)
- 3 large eggs
- 6 apples, peeled and sliced
- 3 tbsp brown sugar (45g)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (15ml)
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour (95g)
- ½ cup brown sugar (100g)
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup cold butter, cubed (115g)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth and pour into the prepared pan.
- In another bowl, toss sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice; spread evenly over the batter.
- For the crumble topping, mix all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and salt in a separate bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly; sprinkle over the apple layer.
- Bake for approximately 35–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving; optionally dust with powdered sugar.
