  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chocolate chips until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and cocoa powder.
  3. Once cooled slightly, whisk in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt; fold into the wet mixture until just blended.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  6. While brownies cool, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in melted chocolate.
  7. Spread the mousse evenly over cooled brownies, slice, and serve.
