- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (113g) blanched slivered almonds, toasted and finely ground
- ¼ cup (30g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk or cream
- ¼ teaspoon almond extract (optional, for extra almond flavor)
- Slivered almonds or chopped toasted almonds (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by combining flour and salt, then cutting in cold butter until crumbly. Add ice water and form a ball; chill for 30 minutes.
- Make the filling by whisking together sugar and cream, then mixing in ground almonds, flour, almond extract, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Roll out the chilled dough into an oval shape on a floured surface. Spread the filling over half of the dough.
