  • 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • For ranch dressing: 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ranch dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Adjust consistency with milk if needed. Refrigerate until serving.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, cornmeal (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk.
  3. Dip each mushroom slice in the egg mixture followed by the flour mixture to coat well.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry mushrooms in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
