  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/3 cup sugar mixed with 2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 4 ounces white chocolate, chopped or broken into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons eggnog
  • 1 tablespoon dark rum or 1/4 teaspoon rum extract (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a stand mixer, cream together butter and sugars until fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla; mix until combined.
  4. Gradually incorporate flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt until dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into balls, coat in cinnamon sugar, and press your thumb into the center.
  6. Bake for about 7 minutes; cool slightly.
  7. Melt white chocolate with eggnog (and rum if using) in intervals until smooth.
  8. Fill each cookie’s center with the melted mixture and sprinkle with nutmeg.
