Instructions

  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour and kosher salt.
  3. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the yeast mixture to form a dough.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise in an oiled bowl covered with a cloth for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Boil 10 cups of water in a large pot; carefully add baking soda.
  8. Shape risen dough into pretzels and boil each for about 30 seconds using a slotted spoon.
  9. Stuff each pretzel with shredded cheese by making a small cut and generously filling it.
  10. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle coarse sea salt before baking for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
