Ingredients
- 150 ml whole milk
- 4 chai tea bags
- 135 g unsalted butter
- 135 g light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 200 g self-raising flour
- Spices: cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cardamom, nutmeg
- For the buttercream: icing sugar, additional chai-infused milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 160C (fan) / 180C / 350F and line a cupcake tin with cases.
- Warm milk and steep chai tea bags for 10-15 minutes. Remove tea bags.
- In a bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour and spices. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture along with the chai-infused milk.
- Fill cupcake cases evenly and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting with spiced buttercream made from softened butter, icing sugar, spices, and chai milk.
