  • 1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a muffin tin by lining it with liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix the topping ingredients using a fork until crumbly.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. In a large bowl, blend milk, softened butter, sour cream, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Gradually combine the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just incorporated.
  6. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  7. Fill muffin cups nearly to the top with batter and sprinkle the crumb topping generously over each one.
  8. Bake for about 18–20 minutes or until golden brown.
