  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by dissolving yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Let it foam. Combine flour, softened butter, sugar, egg, and yeast mixture in a bowl; knead until smooth. Allow rising for 1 hour.
  2. Make the almond topping by melting butter in a saucepan; stir in honey, sugar, and sliced almonds until golden brown.
  3. Bake the cake by pressing risen dough into a greased baking pan and spreading the almond mixture on top. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Prepare the cream filling by whipping heavy cream with sugar to stiff peaks. Heat milk with sugar and cornstarch until thickened; fold in whipped cream.
  5. Assemble by slicing cooled cake horizontally, spreading filling on the bottom half, placing the top half back on, and chilling before serving.
